Getting started
Your first page, start to finish. It takes about ten minutes and touches everything else in this section.
1. Create the page
Log in, then Manage → Content → Add content → Page. (Which type to use for other kinds of content is in Content types.)

Fill in the Content tab:
Title — the page heading.
Description — one or two sentences for search results and cards. It is required, and it is what people read when deciding whether to open the page.
Content — the body text. Paste from Word if you have it; check the headings afterwards and set them to Heading 2 and Heading 3 in the editor. See WYSIWYG.
2. Put it in the menu
In the sidebar, open Menu settings, tick Provide a menu link and choose the Parent link — the page whose section this belongs to. Do this before the first save, because the page's address is built from its position in the menu.

3. Add a component
Scroll to Components, choose Section from Component type and click Add Component. Give the section a Heading, then inside it add a Content component with a paragraph or two, or a Node List pointing at three related pages. Components are what make a page more than a wall of text; the full set is in Components.

4. Preview, then save
Preview shows the page as visitors will see it. When it looks right, set Change to in the sidebar to Needs review and click Save. Add a line in Revision log message saying what the page is for.

The page is now a draft that only logged-in users can see. An Approver publishes it — see Workflow. If you hold the Approver role yourself, choose Published instead of Needs review and it goes live on save.
5. Check it
Open the published page and check three things: the title and description read well in the browser tab and on the listing page that links here; the menu shows the page where you expected; and any images have alternative text (the Images missing alt text report under Manage → Content will tell you).
What next
Give the page a Thumbnail so it looks right in cards and search results — see Media.
Add a Banner image or palette in the Header group for a landing page.
Set On this page on long pages for a table of contents — see On this page.
